CFD Supports Purple Tuesday
Purple Tuesday, held for the first time this year on 13th November, aims to support and campaign for more accessible shopping experiences for those with disabilities. Businesses who’ve signed up to the awareness day will be hosting events and looking into making their websites and in store shopping more accessible. This could mean having dimmed lights and quieter hours for those with sensory impairments, or making their website experience easier to navigate via a keyboard. The partners in the event also pledge to make one long term commitment to promote accessibility in their services, so that the aims and messages of the campaign are being spread 365 days of the year other than just the 1.
At Centre for Dentistry we’re delighted to be supporting Purple Tuesday and we aim to do all we can to make our services accessible and help our patients to feel at ease. Mike Adams, CEO, Purple, says:
“We’re delighted that Centre for Dentistry is supporting the Purple Tuesday campaign to promote better accessibility for disabled customers. This is a collaborative campaign that extends far beyond one day, and it’s vital that organisations come together to make the customer experience inclusive and efficient for everyone.”
At Centre for Dentistry, our patients are at the heart of everything we do and Purple Tuesday reflects our core values of equality and accessibility. In light of this campaign, we have committed to conduct a review of how we are doing in upholding these values and making positive changes to make sure our services are even more accessible.
We’re proud to have fostered an environment where there’s no pressure to come straight into the practice and into the dental chair; there’s plenty of opportunity to pop in, have a chat with our friendly team if you wish, and have a look around to see if we’re the right fit for you. In your appointment, we’ll always book out plenty of time for you to ask questions and go at your pace. Our staff are welcoming and friendly and will always help to make you feel at ease. You can also book and manage your appointments online via our website or through our free App.
The team at CFD Bristol has recently received some lovely feedback on how he helped a patient to feel at ease and the team made the appointment as accessible as possible:
“I just wanted to thank you for the excellent care and support that you offered to our son. He is 12 years old and suffers from SPD. We struggled for the last 6 years to get him only for a simple check up and we never got further than the front door. We thought to give your practice a go, but without high hopes. We are all glad we gave it a try. We were received by a very friendly and kind staff… [the dentist] has a very gentle and calm demeanour; he engaged with our son (explained everything that needs to be done and took him through all the procedures), reassuring him and making all the process stress free! We are soo delighted with the service as our son left the clinic on a very positive note, now looking forward to the next visit!
The Merry Family”
You may feel nervous about coming to the dentist, but don’t worry, it’s a common feeling and we’re experts helping nervous patients to face their fear! Check out our booklet we created with Anxiety UK with lots of tips and facts about dental phobia, free to download here. Our staff are also always available for information and to answer any questions and we have consultation rooms as well if you’d like to speak in private.
