2020: Make this the year to manage your dental health
Every year, millions of people make New Year’s resolutions, hoping to spark positive changes to their health. As January is now in full swing, a vast majority of us may already be feeling the benefits of adopting a more active approach to our health and fitness.
The most common health related resolutions include quitting smoking, reducing alcohol or introducing a healthier diet. Did you know that all of these are also having a positive impact on your dental health?
Now you’ve made the first step, why not book a dental check up to find out more?
Regular check-ups are the best way we can help prevent problems arising and avoid more serious dental treatment in the future, According to statistics, ‘a quarter of adults admit they have not visited a dentist in the past two years, and more than a quarter of adults only visit their dentist when they have a problem’. Centre for Dentistry are encouraging everyone to ensure that regular dental visits are one of their new year’s resolution, not only to improve your oral health, but your overall wellbeing.
At Centre for Dentistry, you can book a dental appointment online in real time 24/7. Of course, you can always visit our practice or call too, but our online booking is designed to make it as easy and convenient as possible for you to see your dentist. CFD also operate longer opening hours – we’re open until 8pm most weekdays and are open on Saturdays – so you can fit a dental appointment around your lifestyle without having to take time off work.
New year, new toothbrush
The next step to improving your oral health is to make sure your toothbrush is good enough. Our dental team recommend that you switch to an electric one to ensure a more thorough clean.
Whether you currently use a manual or electric toothbrush though, do make sure that the bristles are in good condition. You should change your brush or brush head at least every three months or risk a build-up of bacteria on the teeth and gums. At Centre for Dentistry, we offer a range of toothbrushes to buy and our dentist can help you choose the one that’s best for you.
