Top 5 kid’s books to help children look after their teeth

We understand it can sometimes be difficult to motivate your little ones to brush their teeth and open wide for their dental exam.

To celebrate National Storytelling Week from 27th January – 3rd February 2018, we thought we’d share our favourite kid’s books that may inspire them at tooth-brushing time and to not worry about going to the dentist.

*We’ve included links to them on Amazon, just in case you wanted to find out more but they are available in other retail outlets…

Peppa Pig: Dentist Trip

📖 In this colourful book, well known Peppa Pig and her brother George brush their teeth and go to the dentist. This will familiarise your little ones with the process of a dental visit and also reinforce the importance of brushing their teeth.

Going to the Dentist

📖 From the popular Biff and Chip series which some of you might remember from when you were learning to read, this book aims to help children know what to expect from a dental appointment and also has the added bonus of being written to help your child learn how to read.

Maisy, Charlie and the Wobbly Tooth

📖 A good story to read with your children with brilliant illustrations too is the story of Charlie and his wobbly tooth. This book will familiarise your children with the natural process of baby teeth falling out and also again positively reinforces oral hygiene and regular trips to the dentist.

The Dentist and the Crocodile

📖 A poem in a collection by Roald Dahl, The Dentist and the Crocodile makes light of the dental visit and will make your little ones laugh.

The Boy Who Hated Toothbrushes

📖 Finally a highly amusing picture book which teaches kids the importance of brushing their teeth and what a Funtastic Toothsparkler is!
